Windy, Windy Day. Ladder Blowed Away

Last day was a windy day, I mean another day, not last day. Another day was so, so windy that it blowed away the BBQ thing and the ladder fell down and some cows blowed away and then they came back. Isn't that weird?

Mommy grabbed the cows before they blowed away, they didn't really blow away.

[Dad's Note: Sami was confused as to why I was having her look at pictures of flying cows and I couldn't figure out why she would be. It goes right with her post. Turns out that she wasn't talking about cows flying away, rather towels. She thought it was pretty funny that I got confused and insisted on leaving it the way it was with the suggestion that I explain that it was me that was confused and not her.]

My Dad's Awesome, But Silly

Daddy, I was gonna say you're making make-up-believe. I want to say a joke.

Knock knock. Who's there? Mr. Alligator. Mr. Alligator who? Mr. Alligator because he went to school with a dinosaur and then he went home and his mother was his teacher and he broke his head and then he didn't see his mother at home and then he went to school again and then he said "mama" instead of mother.

I want to tell another joke. I know you love dinosaurs, Bridger, so I wanted to tell a dinosaur joke.

Why did the dinosaur have a broken knee? because he never wanted to go to school because he broke his knee all by himself and he wanted to.

Griffin was crying and my dad made him cry more. My dad is awesome, but he's silly. When he tries to cheer people up, he's trying to make them laugh but they cry. So I feel bad because they just cry more.

Sami's Note: We did a video a long time ago. That was when I was two or three, you can call it whatever you want. And we did it to a CD that was long, long ago.

[Dad's Note: Needless to say, I'm now officially embarrassed. Thanks, Sami. I'll remember this.]

Space Aliens and Griffin's Ladybug

I like outerspace and I know you like dinosaurs and outerspace is more fun because you get to see aliens and alien monsters and space lions and everything you want to see. And it's so fun in outerspace. You can't believe it because it's just so fun.

I broke one of my slippers and I'm showing my brother right now.

I would like to go to outerspace.

This monster makes a noise. Click on this. Now click on it. Click on the "this", k daddy.

GRIFFIN: I wuv ladybugs. I wuv that one, daddy. I wuv Sami.

I Took a Picture of my Bleeding Foot

I went to a restaurant today. I ate inchalala. It was fun eating whatever those are called again and I got a bloody foot. A bloody pinky foot. My mom tripped over it and it's a hurt foot. It cut my skin. That was when my babysitter was here.

When I bonked into the wall, this skin was flyin' up. It was up. It broke off, look! Did you know my skin was up when I bonked into the wall? This part of the skin was up, it wasn't down, it was up! That's crazy, huh? It came apart.

Now it doesn't really hurt. When I was thinking about it, it hurt. But it feels like there's an ant crawling through my toe; my pinky toe. It kinda tickles. I'm trying to leave it alone, but it's just red. Whenever I go to sleep it's red. Did you know that? That's really crazy, huh?

I love Bridger, but this isn't all a love story. I just love Bridger and Bridger is my best friend, but Kat isn't. (gasp)

Bridger, I saw you at Macey's too, brother. (Ha, that's a joke!) I know you like dinosaurs so I want to tell a dinosaur joke.

Why did a T-Rex go to school? Because it was a great fan writing but it scribbled. (That's a silly joke, huh. It scribbled its letters! It writed a B like a C.)

[Dad's Note: Normally I would feel bad about posting a picture of a bloody toe (Sami insisted) when the opening sentence talks about eating "enchiladas" at a restaurant, but the restaurant we went to tonight was horrible. The food wasn't so bad, but the service was awful! At this point you're dying to know which restaurant you should no longer patronize...and I'm dying to tell!

La Frontera in Tooele! First and last time we'll ever go there.

We've been to the La Frontera in West Valley before and liked it. Amazing what a little service will do for your impression of a restaurant. Anyway, now I'm stilling my daughter's thunder.

Her toe injury didn't happen at the restaurant, but at home while she was being babysat.]

I Went to Grandma's and it was So Fun

I went to Grandma's house and we were having a party. I had a fun day last day. I love to go to my Grandma's. No kids came.

My nails are growing and now I got an owie on my thumb. My right thumb isn't growing so I bited it off. But the nail was sticking up, so I bited it and it hurt.

I know how to spell no. N-O, no. That's short. I saw someone draw "no", so I was just like, N-O, no. Oh, I got it! So I just shouted it out loud in my heart.

P.S. I have a joke.

Knock, knock. Who's there? Mr. Keys. Mr. Keys who? I have sliver keys!

Bridger, that was a joke!

[Dad's Note: "last day" = yesterday, which makes perfect sense. I don't know why we all don't say last day. We say last week, not yesterweek.]

Bears are Scary and Deers are Nice

I went to the east canyon today and it was so fun. We saw a baby deer and a mommy deer and they were so cute. I didn't see the mommy deer but I saw the baby deer and it was looking for its mom.

Another day I'm going camping.

One time my mom was by a bear outside her tent. And outside her tent was one mama bear and a dada bear and its cubs. The bear was outside looking for a tent to look inside and it was pretty spooky to me. My mom was by a lake.

We came home and now I'm doing my thing. That's all.

[Dad's Note: We did go up a canyon for a picnic tonight, but it was called Settlement Canyon in Tooele, not East Canyon. She says East Canyon because her Grandma and Grandpa have a time-share up there that we go to every year.

The story about Sami's mom and the bear is not made up. We were in the Tetons camping with friends (before Sami was born) and a mama bear and her cubs (no papa bear) crossed Heather when she was standing by the lake.]

Sami Lee Slack's Poster - Exercise

I love to listen to music. I listen to music for now on. I'm listening to music already, but now it's over, but it's starting again.

I had a wonderful time at girls team drill team. I love it. It's fun and we're having a parade. I practice stuff at drill team. We move our arms up and down and it's like exercise.

I love birds. I got a bird stamp today, I mean a rooster stamp. I got it from drill team girl team.

Because I didn't blog because I slept for a little bit and I didn't want to blog. That's all I want to say.

[Dad's Note: "Poster" = post, as in blog post.]

Me and Griffin's Post and My Church Post

I loved church today. I was kinda moving around a lot. Now I'm at home and church was a wonderful time. I'm in my mom's bed making a blog.

I go to church because Jesus wants me to. I like to do that and I would never stop going to church and I like to go to church really much. I love to go to church. I will go to church another day and be really quiet.

Happy Father's Day, Clint. [Is Clint your father?] Happy Uncle Day? Is he an uncle? What is he? I'm just meaning happy father work day. I really mean that you're supposed to write happy work day because work is off.

I love Bridger's writing because I crack up. My daddy just read it to me now.

Happy Father's Day, Daddy!

[When asked if Griffin would like to say anything:]

Griffin: Yea! Ummm... (Burp) Joseph! [What else?] Mommy. [What else?] Ummm...Sami! [Anything else?] Ummm....you! [Meaning Daddy.]

[Dad's Note: I had the opportunity to see that Sami was "moving around a lot" in primary today because I had to fill in as pianist. She didn't even know I was behind the piano until half way through. It was funny when she realized; you could just see the gears turning in her head, thinking back to the things I might be disappointed with her for.]

I Would Like to See Mermaids Because They Are So Fun (I Know That Already)

I love mermaids. I wish I saw a real one.

Griffin is a naughty boy today. I know how to spell Griffin. I don't know the letters.

Ok, and I love to see mermaids and I'd like to see one. When I get a mermaid dress I will be so excited. My voice is running out. I wish I could see a mermaid every day.

I love motorcycles.

I wish I saw the voice of little mermaid, wouldn't that be cool if I did?

[Dad's Note: Griffin (2 years old) went out front without telling anyone, which is why Sami says he was a naughty boy today.]

My Big Girl Haircut

We went to see these creature fish and so you had to dive under water with a diving glass. You can't really see me.

Now, I'm home making my blog and I like to make my blog with my Dad. And daddy always plays his computer everyday. I love when he does stuff that I love him to do. I love him and he's the best dad I ever had and I don't ever want to trade him for any other dad.

Oh, and we got some dinner.

P.S. (What does PS mean?) I love to do stuff with my mom and my brother. I was just going to sneeze, so write "Ah-chew" Ah-chew starts with "A".

Oh, I played outside. Then we did this. I like to chew on my bracelet because I want it to be pretty. It's getting really old. Oh, "oh" starts with "o".

My hair is too short because my mom cut it this short. And I love to put my bracelet on and I didn't want a haircut today, but my mom said she wanted a haircut for me today. My mom and dad say it looks pretty and cute.

[Dad's Note: The "creature place" was a place out in Grantsville called SeaBase. They have tropical fish in it and it's a place to scuba dive and snorkel. We were out for a drive tonight and I wanted to see where it was, so we drove by it. It was actually closed and I doubt Sami would be able to see anything even if it wasn't closed. So the first paragraph is just one of her stories.

Another story that she told was about how she "didn't want a haircut," because she actually did want a haircut. She does think it's too short, however, and that's the truth! I love it though.]

My Little Brother is Kinda Crazy, But I Love Him the Way He Is

First I want to say, I love Griffin and he played with me in the back yard. I love him, but he's kind of naughty. I love him with all my heart and he's my own little brother and nobody can take him from my sweet, sweet arms. And no one can take him from his brain and his heart. He's my little brother that I love. And I love to play outside with him, but sometimes I say no, but sometimes I say yes. But on Sunday I can't really go outside. But, when it's Monday and Tuesday and Wednesdays my Dad lets me eat (he always let me eat) but sometimes when he's taking care of me he doesn't feed me a lot because he only plays his guitar and he plays the piano.

[Dad's Note: Sometimes Sami tells stories, like the part about how I don't feed her a lot. We just finished eating dinner. Tonights post was actually one long, big, gigantic, run-on sentence. I forced the commmas and periods but still couldn't manage a new paragraph out of it. Sami is a cutie and she really does love her brother Griffin.]

Me and Destiny are Polly Pockets

Me and Destiny played princess and we played and we listened to Princess and the pauper. I love her and I love to play with her. We played Barbies together and then we played Polly Pocket. I love to play Polly Pocket with Destiny and Jaylee.

Polly Pockets are dollies. You might lose them because they're so small that you couldn't see them. But, if you drop them on the grass, you could see them. But if you can't find them, they might be lost because your brother took them.

Me and Destiny painted our nails together. Then she had to leave in a minute. Then she left. Then I played with Logan, Miles and Kat. You could call her kitten, I mean Katiana, or Kat. Kat-teee-ana, Kat!

That's all I want to say.

[Dad's Note: Destiny is Sami's friend from Primary. Jaylee is Sami's cousin mentioned in a previous post. Kat is an older friend (7) that live a couple houses down. Polly Pockets, as I learned for the first time tonight, are little plastic dolls.]

My Toy Lizard

I love to play with my toy lizard and I love to put it on my knee. I love to swing it around with it's tail, and stretch it's head out. It can stretch out, just like Bridger's dinosaur stretchy. you can make it do whatever you want it to do.

It CAN'T do whatever I want it to, it can just do whatever I WANT it to.

I can put it on the ground and get it wet and then it sticks. If it gets dirty it won't stick anymore. And I love to love it because it's my favorite toy, because Griffin took it before. I love to play with it with my dolls and I love to play with it in my doll house. I love to jiggle it around and smoosh it in my hand so Griffin can't see it. I love to pretend it's a yo-yo; a lizard yo-yo!

Move Away Bunny, Because My Dad is Coming Through the Road

You can't run over rabbits, because if you do run over bunny rabbits we won't have any food for bunnies. And we won't be able to eat the bunnies. That's why you can't run over bunnies.

Jesus made the bunnies because Grandma Lee loves bunnies. She loves princesses, too. (Bridger doesn't know who Grandma Lee is, huh?)

What if those yellow lines were bunnies and you were running over them? (Then I was just staring out the window because I was looking at the white lines.)

Ah, my ankles hurt. Maybe they hurt because I need to go potty. But I can't bring these toys in the potty, huh? I have gas!

[Dad's Note: We went to a little known lake south of Tooele tonight for Family Home Evening and the rabbits were running around in droves! I was joking that they needed to kill some and I commented, "I doubt they'd mind if I hit a few of these bunnies." At that point Sami proceeded to chew me out for joking about killing the rabbits. That's what she chose to blog about tonight.]

Motorcycle Tricks

I had fun at that motorcycle place and you have to go out of Tooele. I goed there with my family. Then I put a wood deep in my finger.

We goed to those motorcycles that went up these slides and did tricks on the dirt, and then we goed to the race. We rode on a truck and it taked us to a race.

My mom was trying to get the wood out and it hurt.

[Dad's Note: The motorcycle place she refers to is the new Miller Motorsports Park just outside of Tooele at Desert Peak. The wood that was deep in her finger was a tiny sliver. Her mom forced Sami to let her get it out today since it was starting to fester. The truck that took us to a race was a "people mover" that towed trailers that you could sit in to get to the different stadium locations.]

"Cars" Review

I went to the movie to go to see "Cars" with my family.

This race car was in a truck and it was the race queen. And then this little toy car, it pushed the button to take out the car and it rolled out of the truck. And then the race car was looking for the truck and then he went to this police car and then it went to this funny car and it was a hanger car.

They were having a big, big race. The red car won! Sometimes he was behind, but he was the fastest car, but he didn't have a horn. And he didn't have mirrors on the back of him. Because he couldn't go backwards because he couldn't see where he was going, but at the end he could.

Griffin: I want to talk about cars! I like to play. The car loves the girl.

[Dad's Note: The race cars name is Lightning McQueen which explains her reference to the "race queen". The funny "hanger car" was the old tow truck. She said that she wanted to name this post "'Cars' Preview." I insisted on the current title to which she agreed.

When asked which picture she would like to post she wanted a picture of Sally, which is kind of funny since she didn't even mention her. Griffin did, though. :D]

Rosa Belle

[This morning we read Bridger's Dinosaur Blog and discovered that it was dedicated to Sami. So Sami wanted to dedicate her post to her cousin Jaylee, which is what she means when she says:]

I want to send it to Jaylee.

[I then explained that when she "writes" her posts, she should avoid starting her sentences with "Daddy" because she is writing to the whole world. She then clarified and emphasized:]

My heart is talking to the whole world.

I like about princesses and I like to hug them in my heart. I love princesses.

Does Jason have a laptop? [I explained that he has a computer to which she exclaimed, "Woohoo!" She wanted to make sure Jaylee was going to be able to read this.]

I like about princesses, that they give me kisses on the lips. Girls kissing girls, like me and mommy do.

That's all the things I like about princesses.

Oh yeah. My favorite princesses are Sleeping Beauty and Jasmine...and Belle.

[Dad's Note: I'm always correcting her on her speech (that's what parents are supposed to do...teach their children.) so it's been very hard to leave some of the grammar unedited. When I read it back to her I let her know that she can make changes. I suggested that what she means when she says, "I like about..." is really "What I like about..." and asked her if she wanted me to change it. She said, "No" and shrugged her shoulders as if to say 'like it matters'.

When I asked her what she would like the title of this post to be I suggested the title "What I Like about Princesses". She didn't like it and said that the post should be entitled "Rosa Belle"]

Sami's First Story

When asked what she would "write" about if she had her own blog:

I'd talk about bugs and stuff like that, and insects.

Griffin, do you want to talk about froggies?

Griffin: Yeah, I want to talk about sharks.

And Daddy, in it, I want to talk about bugs and insects and about how they crawl on you like that. And I want to draw a picture of them.

Daddy, what does all that say?

Daddy? Um, after this can I draw a picture of them...please. Are you writing down what you say, too? (I'm not.)

Oh, ok. You just write down what me and Griffin say. Griffin! Talk about insects and stuff!

Dad, if you were a bug I would smoosh you like an ant.

I read about bugs, that red ants bite and they carry food. One time when I was at my dad's work I saw a red ant carrying a stick and my friend took it out of it's mouth. Really. That really happened.

The pizza is beeping now. Let's go Dad, the pizza!

[Dad's Note: We went downstairs and ate lunch together (the beeping was the microwave timer for the pizza that was cooking in the oven) and whilst eating lunch I further discussed Sami's blog with her. I let her know that she didn't have to write about what Bridger wrote about and that she could write about anything that was of interest to her. Her response was, "I knew that." Then she took a drink of her lemonade and made a slurping sound. She said, "Oops, I'm not supposed to slurp. I forgot." Then she started into this big story about a pig and about how they slurp, but they do that because they have big throats and it's ok. I told her, "See, that could be a blog posting." Her response was, "I knew that." When asked what she would like to name her blog she suggested the following: Sami's Blog Utah or Rosa (which she informed me means "rose"). I suggested "Sami Lee Stories" and she really liked that. She chose a template that she liked which just happened to be called "Thisaway Rose", so that will fulfill the rose requirement.

It should be noted that the blog idea came from her friend Bridger who has his own blog which his dad writes on his behalf. The format thus far is copied from his blog, except that my "Dad's Notes" seem to be a bit more verbose.]
